The 'death star'
The 'death star'
The Death Star was designed to implement and test the effectiveness of a hatch or panel cut into the side of the airframe for the purpose of accessing and arming the main flight computers. The rocket also carried the 'Telemetry Stack 1.0' ESP32 based telemetry computer in its nose cone and flew successfully to approximately 4000ft.
level 2 rocketry certification
level 2 rocketry certification
The level 2 rocketry certification allows one to fly rockets with motors providing between 640.01 and 5120.00N.s of impulse. To achieve this certification, I both flew this rocket with an electronic deployment system to detect apogee and recovered it with a dual parachute (drogue and main) approach, before passing a written test.
